LAIKA, the animation company that created Coraline, announced their next film to hit the big screen will be a stop-motion animated feature called ParaNorman. In the movie, a boy named Norman, who has the ability to speak with the dead, must save his town from a horde of zombies. ParaNorman is currently under production and will be released in 3D on August 17, 2012. Kodi Smit-McPhee (Let Me In) is the voice of Norman, and the cast includes Casey Affleck (Orange County), Tempestt Bledsoe (The Cosby Show), Jeff Garlin (Curb Your Enthusiasm), John Goodman (Monsters, Inc.), Bernard Hill (Titanic), Anna Kendrick (Up in the Air), Leslie Mann (Knocked Up), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Superbad), and Elaine Stritch (30 Rock). ParaNorman is being directed by Sam Fell (Flushed Away) and Chris Butler (Corpse Bride – storyboard artist).
