Rex is a super-intelligent, undead-battling, Golden Retriever and the star of Big Dog Ink‘s newest comic book series, Rex, Zombie Killer. In the book, Rex and his pack of animal friends travel across a zombie-ridden world looking for a home. The comic is written by Rob Anderson and illustrated by DaFu Yu. Telltale Games’ newest action/adventure game, The Walking Dead: The Game, is available for download today, April 24, 2012. The video game–based on Robert Kirkman’s comic book series The Walking Dead–is being released as a series of monthly “episodes.” The first episode, titled “A New Day,” is out for Mac and PC today and hits the PlayStation Network tomorrow. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the sequel to The Walking Dead: Rise of The Governor will be released October 16, 2012. The novel, titled The Walking Dead: The Road to Woodbury, is the second book in the planned trilogy of novels based on Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead comic book series. The Road to Woodbury, like Rise of The Governor, focuses on the origins of “The Governor,” a popular villain from the The Walking Dead comic. The novel is being written by Kirkman along with horror writer, Jay Bonansinga.
Telltale Games has released a new trailer for their upcoming video game based on Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead. The trailer highlights the action adventure game’s blending of 2D and 3D models to create a comic book-like art style. The Walking Dead: The Game will be released on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network as a series of monthly “episodes.” The first episode will be available in April 2012. Comic book author, Mark Waid (Superman: Birthright, Kingdom Come, Daredevil), has written a short zombie graphic novel with artist Jeremy Rock, and he has released it online as a free digital comic. The comic, titled Luther, is about survivors in a post-apocalyptic world who clean up zombie “roadkill.” The zombie tale is available on Waid’s website as a pdf file. Hit the link and check it out! The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Robert Kirkman is publishing a prequel story to his popular The Walking Dead comic series. The comic will focus on the back-story of series favorite Michonne. Chiller, the horror cable channel, aired their original zombie movie Remains over the weekend. Remains–based on the comic book series of the same name by Steve Niles (30 Days of Night) and Kieron Dwyer–tells the story of a group of zombie apocalypse survivors holed up in a Reno, Nevada casino.
