A fake trailer for Activision’s upcoming first-person shooter, The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, is making the rounds online. The trailer was created by a fan using early developmental footage from the game and fooled a host of news outlets including one of Activision’s own employees. The bogus trailer’s original video has since been removed by its creator from YouTube. The real The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is a prequel to The Walking Dead television series on AMC. It follows the characters Daryl and Merle Dixon as they travel through the zombie-ridden Georgia countryside to Atlanta. The game will be released March 26th in North America and March 29th in Europe for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo’s Wii U. Visit the official The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct website to see the game’s actual trailers.

Treyarch and Activision have unveiled the first information about ZOMBIES in their upcoming game, Call of Duty: Black Ops II. The popular game mode has expanded significantly in the latest edition of the Call of Duty franchise. Zombies in Black Ops II will not only include the classic Survival mode, during which players cooperatively battle against waves of the undead, but also two brand new modes: Tranzit and Grief. Tranzit is a cooperative story campaign set in a huge interconnected world. In Tranzit players will be able to travel to different maps within the world using an armored bus. While traveling between areas players will have to work together to fight off zombies as they swarm the vehicle. Once the bus has reached a destination, players can jump off and explore the new area in order to discover additional weapons and items. In Grief mode, two teams of human players compete to survive against an onslaught of zombies. The last team standing wins the match. During Grief players will be unable to directly kill the humans on the other team. Players must instead find different ways to hinder the other team’s survival. Up to 8 players can participate in Grief mode online. Call of Duty: Black Ops II will be released for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 on November 13, 2012 and for Nintendo’s Wii U on November 18th.

Activision has released an entertaining (and amazingly gory) trailer for Rezurrection, its latest Call of Duty: Black Ops downlodable content pack. Check out the trailer below. Rezurrection is an all-zombie map pack for Black Ops‘ popular zombie mode in which players cooperate online to survive against invading hordes of the undead. Rezurrection includes all four zombie maps from Call of Duty: World at War–Shi No Numa/Swamp, Nacht Der Untoten/Night, Verruckt/Asylum, and Der Riese/Factory–as well as a new map titled “Moon.” In “Moon” players will battle undead astronauts with space-age weapons amongst environments with fluctuating gravity on the Earth’s moon. Rezurrection will be available for download tomorrow, August 23rd, for Xbox 360 and will be released at a later date for PlayStation 3 and PC. (UPDATE)
