Video game makers from around the world have gathered in Los Angeles today to show off their latest creations at the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo. E3 runs from June 5 – 7, and already a huge number of new video games have been revealed.
Among the host of new games is Ubisoft’s ZombiU. ZombiU is a reboot of the first video game Ubisoft ever published, Zombi. The survival first-person shooter takes place in London after it has become completely overrun with zombies. ZombiU‘s premise is simple: survive as long as you can. Players must navigate the maze-like post-apocalyptic city, fight off zombie hoards, and search for weapons, food, and supplies.
Wii U GamePad A.K.A. Your Bug-Out Bag
ZombiU will be available for Nintendo’s upcoming Wii U console, and the game utilizes Wii U’s touchscreen controller in some unique ways. The second screen on the Wii U GamePad can act as a sniper scope, a computer, a supply inventory, a map, and even a sonar device to listen for zombies (among many other things). ZombiU calls this your “Bug-Out Bag.” Another unique feature in ZombiU is the fact that all deaths are final. If a player dies, his character will turn into a zombie, and the player will reawaken as a brand new survivor. Even though a death means a return to square one, players will have the opportunity to hunt down their old zombified self and retrieve the Bug-Out Bag they had previously filled with supplies. However, friends who are playing ZombiU online will have the chance to loot dead players’ supplies if they do not return to their old Bug-Out Bags quickly enough. ZombiU will also support a multiplayer mode in which one player controls the zombie hoard and the second player must survive the traps set by the “Zombie Master.”
ZombiU and Wii U will be released this winter holiday season. Check out the ZombiU Facebook Page for more information, and be sure to watch the gameplay trailer below.

Capcom released new trailers for both Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City and Resident Evil Revelations at this year’s E3 Expo. Raccoon City puts players in the shoes of the Umbrella Corporation’s security force during the original T-virus outbreak. It is the job of the players to cover up all T-virus evidence–eliminating zombies and survivors. The game will be released this winter for Xbox 360, PS3, and Microsoft Windows. Revelations features long-time Resident Evil stars, Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, exploring a troubled luxury cruise ship. The game’s story takes place between the events of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5. Revelations will be released on the Nintendo 3DS in 2012.
