A fake trailer for Activision’s upcoming first-person shooter, The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, is making the rounds online. The trailer was created by a fan using early developmental footage from the game and fooled a host of news outlets including one of Activision’s own employees. The bogus trailer’s original video has since been removed by its creator from YouTube. The real The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is a prequel to The Walking Dead television series on AMC. It follows the characters Daryl and Merle Dixon as they travel through the zombie-ridden Georgia countryside to Atlanta. The game will be released March 26th in North America and March 29th in Europe for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo’s Wii U. Visit the official The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct website to see the game’s actual trailers.

Treyarch and Activision have unveiled the first information about ZOMBIES in their upcoming game, Call of Duty: Black Ops II. The popular game mode has expanded significantly in the latest edition of the Call of Duty franchise. Zombies in Black Ops II will not only include the classic Survival mode, during which players cooperatively battle against waves of the undead, but also two brand new modes: Tranzit and Grief. Tranzit is a cooperative story campaign set in a huge interconnected world. In Tranzit players will be able to travel to different maps within the world using an armored bus. While traveling between areas players will have to work together to fight off zombies as they swarm the vehicle. Once the bus has reached a destination, players can jump off and explore the new area in order to discover additional weapons and items. In Grief mode, two teams of human players compete to survive against an onslaught of zombies. The last team standing wins the match. During Grief players will be unable to directly kill the humans on the other team. Players must instead find different ways to hinder the other team’s survival. Up to 8 players can participate in Grief mode online. Call of Duty: Black Ops II will be released for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 on November 13, 2012 and for Nintendo’s Wii U on November 18th.

Video game makers from around the world have gathered in Los Angeles today to show off their latest creations at the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo. E3 runs from June 5 – 7, and already a huge number of new video games have been revealed.
Among the host of new games is Ubisoft’s ZombiU. ZombiU is a reboot of the first video game Ubisoft ever published, Zombi. The survival first-person shooter takes place in London after it has become completely overrun with zombies. ZombiU‘s premise is simple: survive as long as you can. Players must navigate the maze-like post-apocalyptic city, fight off zombie hoards, and search for weapons, food, and supplies.
Wii U GamePad A.K.A. Your Bug-Out Bag
ZombiU will be available for Nintendo’s upcoming Wii U console, and the game utilizes Wii U’s touchscreen controller in some unique ways. The second screen on the Wii U GamePad can act as a sniper scope, a computer, a supply inventory, a map, and even a sonar device to listen for zombies (among many other things). ZombiU calls this your “Bug-Out Bag.” Another unique feature in ZombiU is the fact that all deaths are final. If a player dies, his character will turn into a zombie, and the player will reawaken as a brand new survivor. Even though a death means a return to square one, players will have the opportunity to hunt down their old zombified self and retrieve the Bug-Out Bag they had previously filled with supplies. However, friends who are playing ZombiU online will have the chance to loot dead players’ supplies if they do not return to their old Bug-Out Bags quickly enough. ZombiU will also support a multiplayer mode in which one player controls the zombie hoard and the second player must survive the traps set by the “Zombie Master.”
ZombiU and Wii U will be released this winter holiday season. Check out the ZombiU Facebook Page for more information, and be sure to watch the gameplay trailer below.
